Ruth Irene Drzycimski

A woman is looking in a neonatal incubator in a hospital, connected to multiple medical monitors and equipment, with an IV attached nearby. There is a sign that reads 'Minimal Stimulation' with a picture of a blue unicorn on a cloud.

On December 17th, 2025, our lives were changed and blessed by the arrival of our second daughter. She came 20 weeks early.

Ruth is now battling for her life in a NICU in El Paso. By God’s grace, she came a day before we were scheduled to cross the border into Mexico.

This page is dedicated to Ruth’s story and how God has magnified Himself through her.

Instead, we spent that day in the hospital, doing all that we could to keep baby Ruth safe inside of her mother. After half a dozen medications and a restless night, an emergency C-section was ordered for Hannah. Despite our best efforts, Ruth was on her way, and the safest way for her fragile body to arrive would be via C-section.

On the morning of December 16th, Hannah went into pre-term labor. We found ourselves in El Paso, Texas, preparing to cross the border for Mexico the following day. Hannah’s parents had met us to help escort us down, and we were all scrambling to get ourselves ready for the crossing. But God had other plans for us.

Ruth was born at 6:33am on December 17th, weighing just 15.7 ounces. Hannah was stitched up and, accompanied by her mother, was taken back to her room, without her baby, and I followed Ruth to the NICU.

In a couple hours, Hannah was moved to a recovery room and Ruth was securely connected to a ventilator, a feeding tube, an IV, and several sensor leads.

Since then, Ruth has struggled with her life. Hannah is recovering well, and we have both been allowed to see and interact with Ruth daily during specific times when she is being handled anyway—once every six hours.

We covet your prayers. Hannah and I prayed for this child, and God answered us. He has preserved Ruth’s life thus far and has allowed us to touch her, talk with her, and sing to her. We are immensely grateful for all of this. And we are at peace with whatever God in His sovereign plan will give us. May He be glorified through us.

Updates on Ruth's Status

As we prepare for the mission field, where the spiritual forces of wickedness are about to lose ground, we can expect heavy spiritual and physical battles to be fought over our family.

We know that Satan and his demons cannot work outside of God’s authority. They are limited in their power (Job 1:6). But they do have power. And at this moment, as we are preparing to begin our ministry, they would like nothing better than to discourage us, to bring despair upon our house, and to possibly even turn us back from the calling God has put on our hearts.

We also know that God will not give us anything we are not able to handle (1 Cor. 10:13). With the trial He will provide the grace and endurance necessary to persevere. This is encouraging to Hannah and I—evidently, God is using us to show Satan’s kingdom the superior power of His own. And through this, He will give us the faith to persevere. Furthermore, we can be at peace knowing that our suffering—and Ruth’s suffering—has a purpose.

We are honored that God has chosen to use our family in this way. Over the past week, thousands of people have prayed for Ruth and for our family. Countless people, both in the church and in the hospital, have seen how we respond to what God gives us—in this time, particularly those things which are difficult to bear. And the Lord has seen it fit that we should be the ones to bring glory to his name in this way.

It is our fervent prayer that God spares Ruth’s life and gives her health in the coming years. But if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

If God continues to spare Ruth’s life as He has faithfully done over the past week, our family will be in El Paso for several months. During this time, we will be visiting Ruth frequently, caring for her even while she is outside of our home. And at the same time, we will be using our spare time to continue preparing for the mission field. El Paso will be a very good place for this.

Obviously, we are going to be encountering significant expenses associated with a child in the NICU and living in a desert city in America instead of a farm in Mexico. If you would like to help our family head to the mission field fully equipped and ready for battle, please consider a donation to our ministry. We would be honored to have your support.

The Word of our Lord

During this trial, there have been several verses which have come to our minds. Following are some passages from Scripture which Hannah and I have found particularly meaningful during this time.

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.  No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

1 Corinthians 10:12-14

for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Romans 14:8

“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

Luke 22:31

They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

Acts 5:40-42

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 1:2-4

And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” When He had said this, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and applied the clay to his eyes, and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and came back seeing.

John 9:1-3

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.

Now on the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, and the Sabeans attacked and took them. They also slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands and made a raid on the camels and took them and slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. He said,

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
And naked I shall return there.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.” Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face.” So the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life.”

Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took a potsherd to scrape himself while he was sitting among the ashes.

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
